Ingredients for 1 servings:

  • 300 g flour
  • 1 tbsp baking powder
  • 100 g sugar
  • 1 tbsp vanilla sugar
  • 1 egg(s)
  • 2 tbsp milk
  • 125 g butter
  • 200 g hazelnuts, ground
  • 100 g sugar
  • 5 drops of bitter almond flavor
  • 2 eggs
  • 4 tbsp water

Instructions

Working time approx. 25 minutes; Total time approx. 25 minutes

Knead the dough ingredients together and chill for 30 minutes. Roll out the dough into a rectangle approximately 35×45 cm. Beat 1 whole egg with 1 egg white, 1/2 egg yolk, and the sugar until frothy, then add the nuts and water to form a smooth mixture. Spread the mixture evenly over the dough using a knife. Roll the dough up from the longer side and place it into a semicircle on a baking sheet with the open side facing down. Whisk the remaining 1/2 egg yolk with 1 tbsp. milk and brush it over the wreath. Use a knife to make diagonal, evenly spaced 1/2 cm deep cuts. Bake at 160°C fan oven for 45 minutes.
