Currant sauce with vanilla ice cream

Ingredients for 4 servings:

  • 500 g red currants
  • 3 tbsp liquid honey
  • 2 tbsp sugar
  • ¼ tsp cinnamon
  • 1 tbsp cassis, optional
  • Ice cream, vanilla flavor

Instructions

Working time approx. 15 minutes; Total time approx. 15 minutes

the quick way

Strip the washed currants from the stems with a fork and place them in a saucepan. Add honey, sugar, and cinnamon, along with 1-2 tablespoons of blackcurrant liqueur if desired. Bring to a boil for about 2-3 minutes until the fruits glow. Serve hot or cold with vanilla ice cream.
