Ingredients for 4 servings:

  • 2 pears, juicy, ripe
  • 30 g fresh ginger
  • 1 piece(s) star anise
  • ⅛ liter white wine, dry
  • 40 g sugar
  • 20 g butter

Instructions

Peel and core the pears, and cut into eighths. Peel the ginger and slice thinly. Place in a small saucepan with the wine, star anise, sugar, and butter and bring to a boil. Bring the pear slices to a boil in the liquid, then let them cool and cover overnight. The ginger pears go well with chocolate ice cream, chocolate sauce, chocolate mousse, as well as with duck breast or Asian-style fish fillets.
