Potato gratin with nuts

Ingredients for 3 servings:

  • 750 g jacket potatoes
  • 1 large onion(s)
  • 1 garlic clove(s)
  • 200 g cheese, Gruyère in a piece
  • 100 g walnuts, coarsely chopped
  • 100 g butter, cold, in flakes
  • 1 pinch(s) nutmeg, freshly grated
  • Salt and pepper, from the mill

Instructions

Working time approx. 30 minutes; Cooking/baking time approx. 45 minutes; Total time approx. 1 hour 15 minutes

Peel the cooled potatoes and grate them with a potato grater. Finely chop the onion and garlic clove. Grate the cheese with a potato grater. Mix everything together and season with salt, nutmeg, and plenty of pepper. Finally, stir in the walnuts and butter flakes. Butter a gratin dish, pour in the mixture, and bake in a preheated oven at 180°C for about 15-20 minutes.
