Simple applesauce

Ingredients for 2 servings:

  • 1 ½ kg apples, e.g. Jonagold
  • 3 tbsp lemon juice
  • some cinnamon
  • 50 g sugar
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract

Instructions

Working time approx. 30 minutes; Cooking/baking time approx. 10 minutes; Total time approx. 40 minutes

Wash, peel, and slice the apples. Place the apple pieces in a tall saucepan, add the lemon juice, and cover with water. Boil for about 10 minutes. After boiling, drain the water and mash the apples. Add the sugar, cinnamon, and vanilla extract and mix well. Tip: For an even finer consistency, simply press the finished applesauce through a sieve.
