Leek gratin with quark

Ingredients for 4 servings:

  • 1 kg leek
  • salt and pepper
  • Nutmeg, grated
  • 250 g quark
  • 200 ml cream
  • 100 g cheese (grated Gouda)
  • 3 tbsp sunflower seeds
  • 2 cloves garlic
  • 2 tbsp parsley, chopped

Instructions

Working time approx. 30 minutes; Total time approx. 30 minutes

Remove the dark green parts and roots from the leeks. Wash the stalks thoroughly and cut them diagonally into approximately 1 cm long pieces. Pre-cook the vegetables in boiling salted water for approximately 3 minutes. Then drain and set aside. Arrange the leeks in a greased baking dish and season generously with salt, pepper, and nutmeg. Mix the quark with the cream, grated cheese, and 2 tablespoons of sunflower seeds. Peel the garlic and press it in. Add the parsley and stir both into the quark mixture. Spread the mixture over the leeks. Sprinkle the remaining sunflower seeds on top and bake everything for approximately 15 minutes. Serve with boiled potatoes. You can also add cooked spiral pasta or diced ham.
