Ingredients for 10 servings:
- 400 g smoked mackerel (1 large)
- 75 g onion(s)
- 1 garlic clove(s), if desired
- 1 egg(s), hard-boiled
- 40 g mustard
- 45 g gherkins
- herbal salt
- pepper
- some herbs (chives, parsley, dill, thyme, basil, marjoram)

Remove the skin and bones from the mackerel. Finely chop the onion, garlic, egg, and gherkin. Mix everything together. Add salt, pepper, and herbs and stir until a paste forms.
