Ingredients for 6 servings:

  • 6 pieces of Bockwurst
  • 12 tbsp ketchup, sweet
  • some lard, for frying
  • some paprika powder, hot

Instructions

Working time approx. 10 minutes; Cooking/baking time approx. 10 minutes; Total time approx. 20 minutes

Bockwurst in ketchup sauce – GDR party classic

Preparation is incredibly simple: Heat lard in a pan. Cut the sausages into three equal pieces, then cut a cross at both ends. Fry the sausages in the hot lard until lightly browned all over. Then drizzle with ketchup, stir, and season with paprika to your liking. Serve the sausages hot with the sauce with potato salad, pasta salad, fries, or white bread, or arrange them on a hot-cold buffet. A cold beer goes perfectly with this!
