Ingredients for 3 servings:

  • 100 g yeast
  • ½ liter milk, warm
  • some sugar
  • 1 kg flour
  • 300 g butter
  • 100 g sugar
  • 3 egg yolks
  • 2 packets of vanilla sugar
  • 2 tsp salt
  • 250 g raisins
  • 250 g nuts, roasted, roughly chopped
  • 250 g sugar, sugar cubes
  • 1 pinch of salt
  • some sugar
  • 1 egg(s)

Instructions

Working time approx. 30 minutes; Total time approx. 30 minutes

Combine the yeast with the warm milk and a little sugar, and let it rise. Mix with the flour, butter, sugar, egg yolk, vanilla sugar, and salt. Knead in the raisins and nuts. Finally, knead in the sugar cubes by hand. Brush with beaten egg (mixed with a pinch of salt and a little sugar) and let it rise again. Bake for 40-45 minutes at 180°C. Makes 3 loaves on 2 baking sheets.
