Advent bread

Spread the love

Ingredients for 1 servings:

  • ½ kg apples
  • ¼ kg sugar
  • ¼ kg raisins
  • ¼ kg hazelnuts
  • 2 tbsp cocoa powder, sweetened
  • 2 tbsp schnapps (clear, grain)
  • ½ kg flour
  • 1 ½ packets of baking powder
  • 1 tsp cinnamon
  • some milk

Instructions

Working time approx. 30 minutes; Total time approx. 30 minutes

Peel the apples thinly, remove the cores, and finely chop them. Mix them with the sugar and let them sit for about 4-5 hours. (A lot of liquid will come out of the apples during this time.) Then add the raisins, nuts, cocoa, cinnamon, schnapps, flour, and the stirred baking powder. Knead everything together. If the dough is too dry (the amount of liquid that comes out of the apples depends on the type of apple), add a little more milk. Pour the dough into a greased cake pan and bake for 90 minutes at 160°C (320°F). The bread is very moist, keeps well, and tastes wonderfully Christmassy.
