Ingredients for 4 servings:

  • 600 g gnocchi
  • 200 ml cream
  • 1 egg yolk
  • 100 g cheese (Appenzeller Mild), thin slices
  • 100 g bacon (TirolerSpeck), or Serrano ham, thin slices
  • Salt
  • pepper
  • nutmeg

Instructions

Working time approx. 10 minutes; Cooking/baking time approx. 15 minutes; Total time approx. 25 minutes

Brown the gnocchi in hot oil in a pan. Meanwhile, mix the cream with the egg yolk, salt, pepper, and nutmeg. When the gnocchi are golden brown, add the cream mixture and bring to a boil. Transfer everything to a baking dish and spread the cheese on top. Briefly bake in the oven at 250°C (grill function). Place the bacon/ham slices on top and return to the oven for a short time.
