Ingredients for 1 servings:

  • 300 g almonds
  • 3 egg whites
  • 150 g sugar
  • 1 bottle of bitter almond flavoring
  • Powdered sugar, for dusting

Instructions

Working time approx. 30 minutes; Rest time approx. 3 hours; Total time approx. 3 hours 30 minutes

Almond macaroons

Finely grind the almonds. Beat the egg whites until very stiff peaks form. Stir in the sugar. Stir in the almonds and bitter almond flavoring. Form the mixture into walnut-sized balls and place them on two greased baking sheets. Dust the macaroons with powdered sugar and let them rest for a few hours. Preheat the oven to 150°C (300°F). Bake the amaretti for about 35 minutes. Remove from the baking sheet immediately and let cool.
