Ingredients for 1 servings:

  • 160 g butter
  • 250 g sugar
  • 750 g apples, preferably firm, slightly sour
  • 3 tbsp lemon juice
  • 80 g walnuts, not too finely chopped
  • 120 g flour
  • 150 g cornstarch
  • 1 packet of baking powder
  • 20 ml milk
  • 1 pinch of cinnamon
  • 3 eggs

Instructions

Working time approx. 30 minutes; Rest time approx. 1 hour; Total time approx. 1 hour 30 minutes

Preheat the oven to 190 degrees Celsius, then line the bottom of a 28 cm springform pan with baking paper, first grease the edges and dust with flour. Melt 40 g of butter and spread it evenly on the baking paper, then sprinkle with 80 g of sugar and a little cinnamon. Cut the cored, peeled apples into thick slices and place in the baking pan. Drizzle with 2 tablespoons of lemon juice and sprinkle with the walnuts. Put 120 g of butter and 170 g of sugar in a mixing bowl and beat until fluffy. Sift the flour with the cornstarch and baking powder and beat into the foam with the eggs, 1 tablespoon of lemon juice and the milk. Pour the batter onto the apples, smooth it down and bake in the preheated oven on the middle rack for 40-45 minutes (test for doneness). Then remove from the oven and let cool in the pan. Turn out onto a wire rack and peel off the paper.
