American breakfast

Spread the love

Ingredients for 2 servings:

  • 4 slices of toast
  • 4 eggs
  • 10 grilled sausages (Nuremberg style)
  • 10 slices of breakfast bacon
  • 4 tbsp maple syrup
  • Butter, for frying
  • Salt
  • pepper
  • possibly grated cheese

Instructions

Working time approx. 10 minutes; Cooking/baking time approx. 10 minutes; Total time approx. 20 minutes

Whisk 2 eggs and toss the toast in them. Fry in a hot pan with a little butter (like French toast, but don’t fry!). Fry the sausages and bacon in a second pan. Flatten the bacon with a fork so it doesn’t curl too much. Fry the sausages until dark brown. Set the toast (=French toast) aside and beat the remaining two eggs into scrambled eggs and cook. Season with salt, pepper, and grated cheese, if desired. Arrange the toast, bacon, sausages, and scrambled eggs on a plate and pour the maple syrup over everything! It might sound strange at first, sausages and syrup, but the taste is simply amazing! Unfortunately, you can’t eat it too often (calories!), but every now and then for brunch, it’s really great!
