Andy's green grilled asparagus with bacon

Spread the love

Ingredients for 2 servings:

  • 10 stalk(s) asparagus, green
  • 10 strips of bacon
  • e.g. Parmesan
  • Black pepper, coarsely ground
  • n.B. Crema di Balsamic vinegar
  • 2 slices of brown bread, toasted, spread with butter
  • 1 pinch(s) of sea salt flakes

Instructions

Working time approx. 10 minutes; Cooking/baking time approx. 10 minutes; Total time approx. 20 minutes

Aperitif, starter or whatever you like

Preheat the gas grill (or oven with conventional heat) to 200 degrees Celsius (400 degrees Fahrenheit). Snap off the bottom ends of the asparagus, then wrap each spear diagonally from bottom to top with a slice of bacon. Line a baking sheet with parchment paper (I use a perforated pizza tray). Place the wrapped asparagus spears next to each other on the sheet, leaving a little space between them, and place in the grill/oven for about 10 minutes. When the bacon starts to crisp up, sprinkle with coarsely grated Parmesan cheese and bake briefly. Arrange portions on plates, season with pepper (I use Melange Noir from “Altes Gewürzamt”), and a few dashes of balsamic vinegar. Serve with toasted black bread with butter and sea salt flakes and a glass of wine.
