Anika's Mocha Cream

Ingredients for 1 servings:

  • 100 g sugar
  • 40 g cornstarch
  • 4 egg yolks
  • 500 ml milk
  • 1 packet of vanilla sugar
  • 2 tsp instant coffee powder
  • 2 tbsp whipped cream (more if needed)
  • Cocoa powder for dusting
  • n. B. Cookie(s) (wholemeal cookies) for decoration

Instructions

Working time approx. 30 minutes; Total time approx. 30 minutes

Own creation

Put half the sugar and the cornstarch in a small bowl. Add the egg yolks and 1/4 of the milk and whisk until well blended. Meanwhile, bring the remaining milk to a boil with the remaining sugar and vanilla sugar. Slowly pour the egg mixture into the boiling milk while stirring continuously. Once the cream has boiled thoroughly a few times and is smooth, remove from the heat immediately. Stir the coffee powder into the cream. Allow the mocha cream to cool, making sure that no skin forms. Once it has cooled, fold the whipped cream into the cream. Transfer the finished mocha cream to a large glass bowl or small serving dishes, dust with cocoa powder and decorate with whole-grain cookies. Refrigerate until ready to serve.
