Aperitif – Nuts

Spread the love

Ingredients for 1 servings:

  • 300 g almond(s), peeled
  • 300 g cashew nuts
  • 2 tbsp honey, liquid
  • 1 tbsp oil (e.g. sunflower oil)
  • 2 tbsp curry (garam masala)
  • 1 tbsp paprika powder, sweet
  • ½ tsp cayenne pepper
  • some salt, if you have it, fleur de sel

Instructions

Working time approx. 15 minutes; Total time approx. 15 minutes

Snacks

Preheat the oven to 200 degrees Celsius (400 degrees Fahrenheit). Line a baking sheet with baking paper. Combine the honey and spices (without salt) in a bowl. Add the nuts and mix well. Pour the nuts onto the baking sheet and spread evenly. Roast at 200 degrees Celsius (center of the oven) for about 10 minutes, turning frequently, otherwise the nuts will overbrown. Remove the nuts from the oven and, while still hot, sprinkle with salt, mix, and let cool. The honey will make them stick together slightly. Once cooled, however, they’ll break apart easily, so use firm nuts, not walnuts. Wonderful for snacking with a glass of Prosecco or as a gift.
