Apple and banana casserole

Ingredients for 4 servings:

  • 4 slices of black bread or mixed bread, stale
  • 2 apples
  • 1 banana(s)
  • 2 eggs
  • 300 ml milk
  • 1 pack of vanilla pudding powder or almond pudding powder
  • 2 egg whites
  • some margarine or butter for greasing

Instructions

Working time approx. 10 minutes; Cooking/baking time approx. 25 minutes; Total time approx. 35 minutes

Recycling leftovers

Grease the baking dish and peel the apples. Cut the bread slices into large cubes and place them in the baking dish. Coarsely grate the apples and scatter them on top of the bread cubes. Slice the peeled bananas and place them on top of the grated apples. Make a glaze from the eggs, milk, and custard powder and spread it evenly over the mixture. Beat the egg whites with a little salt until stiff and spread it over the mixture. Bake the casserole at 180°C (convection oven) for about 20-25 minutes. It can be eaten hot or cold, for example with ice cream or vanilla sauce.
