Apple and Chilli Butter with Roasted Onions
The perfect apple and chilli butter with roasted onions recipe with a picture and simple step-by-step instructions.
- 2 Onions
- 2 Apples
- Chilli to your taste
- 1 tbsp Sugar
- 2 tbsp Butter
- Black pepper from the mill
- Salt
- Oil
- Dice an onion very finely. Heat some oil in a pan and fry the finely diced onions until crispy and then degrease them on kitchen paper and set aside for the time being.
- Do not peel the apples, but wash them thoroughly (the best taste is in the peel). Then quarter the apples and remove the core and cut the apples into cubes. Dice the other onion as well.
- Melt the butter in the pan at medium temperature and add the apples and onions and simmer for about 5 minutes, then the pickled chilies to taste and add the sugar and simmer for another 5 minutes, turning, until the apples are nice and soft. Then pour everything into a tall container and puree finely and then put the puree in a bowl, fold in the roasted onions and season with salt and pepper. Transfer to a sealable container. Keeps in the refrigerator for at least 1 week.
