Apple and Mango Compote

The perfect apple and mango compote recipe with a picture and simple step-by-step instructions.

  • 1,5 kg Apple Boskoop or others
  • 2 piece Mangoes
  • 1 piece Lemon
  • 125 ml Orange juice
  • 2 tbsp Sugar as desired
  1. Pour water into a large bowl, squeeze the lemon and pour the juice over the water.
  2. Wash and peel the apples, cut out the core, cut into quarters and place in the lemon water.
  3. Peel the mangoes, cut the flesh into wedges and dice.
  4. Pour orange juice into a large saucepan, add the sugar, apple and mango pieces and cook to make a compote.
  5. In the meantime, rinse jars with twist off lids in hot water and dry them out.
  6. Pour the compote into the glasses provided and put the lid on.
  7. Pour water into a baking dish and place in the oven preheated to 80-90 degrees.
  8. Place the jars filled with the compote in the frying pan and let sterilize for about 30 minutes. Let cool, remove and label.
