Apple and nut gratin

Ingredients for 4 servings:

  • 4 apples
  • ½ cup water
  • 1 lemon(s), the juice
  • 50 g butter
  • 50 g sugar
  • 100 g walnuts, chopped
  • 1 tbsp honey
  • 2 tbsp cream
  • Butter for the mold

Instructions

Working time approx. 30 minutes; Total time approx. 30 minutes

Peel the apples, core them, and halve them. Bring water and lemon juice to a boil, add the apple halves, and simmer over low heat for about 10 minutes. Melt the butter in a saucepan, melt the sugar, and lightly toast the nuts. Stir in the honey and cream. Place the well-drained apple halves in a baking dish and cover with the nut mixture. Bake at 200°C for about 15 minutes. Serve hot with whipped cream.
