Apple Chocolate Trifle

Spread the love

Ingredients for 4 servings:

  • 500 g apples, sour
  • 2 tbsp lemon juice
  • 1 pack of chocolate pudding powder (for cooking 0.5 L of milk)
  • 7 tbsp sugar
  • ½ liter of milk
  • 8 ladyfingers
  • 4 tbsp Calvados
  • 100 ml whipped cream
  • 2 tbsp chocolate, white or dark

Instructions

Working time approx. 30 minutes; Rest time approx. 2 hours; Total time approx. 2 hours 30 minutes

Mix the pudding mix, 5 tablespoons of sugar, and 6 tablespoons of milk until smooth. Bring the remaining milk to a boil, stir in the mixed pudding mix, and cook until done. Cover and let cool (cover with cling film so the pudding doesn’t develop a skin). Peel, quarter, and core the apples, and cut into small pieces. Bring the apples to a boil with 2 tablespoons of sugar, 5-6 tablespoons of water, and lemon juice. Cover and simmer for about 5-6 minutes. Allow to cool. Break the ladyfingers into pieces and divide between 4 glasses. Drizzle with Calvados. Spread the apple compote on top. Whip the cream until stiff peaks form. Stir the pudding thoroughly, fold in the cream, and pour over the compote. Cut the chocolate into shavings (using a vegetable peeler) and divide them between the glasses.
