Ingredients for 5 servings:

  • 800 g apples
  • 3 cinnamon sticks
  • 3 carnations
  • 200 g sugar
  • 2 tbsp honey
  • 100 ml apple juice
  • 200 ml punch (children’s or fruit punch)
  • 1 lemon(s), untreated
  • 200 ml water

Instructions

Working time approx. 30 minutes; Cooking/baking time approx. 20 minutes; Total time approx. 50 minutes

First, heat the water, punch, apple juice, cloves, cinnamon sticks, sugar, honey, lemon zest, and juice in a saucepan. Meanwhile, peel the apples, core them, and cut the flesh into walnut-sized pieces. Add the apples to the boiling broth and cook for about 10-20 minutes, depending on the desired consistency, until soft. Serve the compote in bowls, either warm or cold. Tip: The apples can be a little wrinkled, so you can make something delicious out of them instead of throwing them away.
