  • 150 g flour
  • 1 egg(s)
  • 75 g butter
  • 40 g sugar
  • 5 m.-sized apples
  • 4 eggs
  • 250 g whipped cream
  • 1 packet of vanilla sugar
  • 2 tsp, heaped cornstarch
  • 2 tbsp sugar
  • Cinnamon

Instructions

Working time approx. 40 minutes; Total time approx. 40 minutes

Preheat the oven to 180 degrees Celsius (350 degrees Fahrenheit). Knead the flour, egg, butter, and sugar into a smooth dough. Grease a tart pan and line it with the shortcrust pastry. Peel the apples and cut them into wedges. Top the dough with the apples and sprinkle the apples with cinnamon. Beat the eggs with the heavy cream, vanilla sugar, cornstarch, and sugar with a mixer for 2-3 minutes. Season to taste and add more sugar if desired. Pour the cream glaze over the apples; it will be quite runny but will set. Bake the cake on the middle rack of the oven for about 60 minutes until golden brown. It also works well with plums, currants, cherries, etc.
