Betti's best potato gratin

Ingredients for 4 servings:

  • 1 ½ kg potatoes
  • 200 g crème fraîche
  • 250 g cream
  • 200 g cheese, grated
  • 1 garlic clove(s), crushed
  • salt and pepper

Instructions

Working time approx. 20 minutes; Cooking/baking time approx. 40 minutes; Total time approx. 1 hour

Peel the potatoes and cook until almost tender. They should still be slightly tender. Then slice them and place them in a buttered casserole dish. Gently heat the crème fraîche, cream, grated cheese, and garlic in a saucepan until the cheese is melted, stirring frequently. Season with salt and pepper to taste. Pour the cheese sauce over the potatoes and bake the gratin at 200°C (top/bottom heat) for 30-40 minutes until golden brown.
