Apple – Mutzen
The perfect apple – mutzen recipe with a picture and simple step-by-step instructions.
- 1 piece Apple
- 90 g Cornmeal
- 75 g Wheat flour
- 2 tbsp Baking powder
- 6 tbsp Sugar
- 1 pinch Salt
- 1 piece Egg
- 125 ml Milk
- 2 tbsp Vegetable oil
- 1,5 cups Vegetable oil for frying
- Powdered sugar
Preparation:
- Peel and stone the apples and cut the pulp into particularly small pieces.
Preparation:
- 1. Mix the flour, corn flour, baking powder, sugar and salt together.
- 2. Carefully mix the egg, milk and oil together.
- 3. Fold in the apple pieces and let the dough soak for 10-15 minutes.
- 4. Heat the oil in a saucepan with a high rim over medium heat.
- 5. CAUTION: If the oil smokes it is way too hot !!!!!!
- 6. Now white the dough with a tablespoon and let it slide into the oil just above the surface of the oil. This avoids dangerous splashes.
- 7. Bake only 3-4 mugs at a time. Turn once while deep-frying so that the mugs are evenly browned.
- 8. If the caps are golden brown all around, remove them with a slotted trowel and place them on a plate with ZEWA.
- 9. Sprinkle vigorously with powdered sugar.
- This recipe is great for those with a sweet tooth, even at carnival time to make everyone happy. Always something special as a picnic snack for your loved one.
