Apple on the head

Spread the love

Ingredients for 3 servings:

  • 3 apples
  • 100 g flour
  • 40 g margarine
  • 50 g sugar
  • 1 egg(s)
  • 1 drop butter-vanilla flavoring

Instructions

Working time approx. 20 minutes; Cooking/baking time approx. 40 minutes; Total time approx. 1 hour

baked apples

Preheat the oven to 180°C. For the batter, mix together the flour, margarine, sugar, egg, and vanilla extract. Peel and halve the apples. Remove the cores and lightly trim the underside of the apple halves so that they stand securely and cannot tip over. Hollow out the apples enough to leave some space for the batter. Pour the batter into the well and smooth it out so that the entire top of the apple is covered. Bake the apple halves on the middle rack for about 35-40 minutes until they are lightly browned. To serve (cold or warm), turn the halves upside down (with the batter facing down) so that you can pick them up by the batter. You can also serve vanilla ice cream with the warm apples; sprinkle the cold ones with powdered sugar.
