Ingredients for 1 servings:

  • 450 ml apple juice, unsweetened
  • 400 ml pear juice, unsweetened
  • 1 sachet Gelfix, Classic 1:1, per sachet for 850 ml fruit juice + and 1000 g sugar
  • 1,000 g sugar
  • 3 tbsp whiskey, to taste

Working time approx. 15 minutes; Total time approx. 15 minutes

A fruity, summery breakfast spread

Combine both fruit juices in a large saucepan. Mix the Gelfix Classic with 2 tablespoons of sugar, then add to the fruit juice and stir to combine. Bring the fruit juice to a boil over high heat while stirring. Once boiling, add the remaining sugar. Bring back to a boil while stirring and boil for at least 3 minutes. If the gelling test (place 1-2 teaspoons of the mixture on a cold porcelain plate) does not set, add 1 packet of citric acid or a few tablespoons of lemon juice and bring back to a boil. If desired, stir in whiskey after boiling. Now skim off the mixture if necessary, immediately fill prepared jars to the brim, secure with screw lids, turn upside down, and let stand with the lid on for about 5 minutes.
