Ingredients for 4 servings:

  • 150 g sugar
  • 150 g margarine
  • 2 eggs
  • 1 packet of vanilla sugar
  • 340 g flour
  • ¾ pack of baking powder
  • 3 m.-sized apples
  • some cinnamon sugar

Dutch Oven ft 4.5

Mix together the sugar, margarine, eggs, and vanilla sugar. Add the flour and baking powder and knead everything together until it forms a coarse crumb. Pour 2/3 of the batter into the Dutch oven lined with baking paper and form a rim about 3 cm high. Peel the apples, cut them into thin slices, and mix with the cinnamon sugar. Then arrange the apple slices in a fan shape over the batter. Finally, crumble the remaining batter over the top. Place the Dutch oven on the briquettes, with 3 briquettes on the bottom and 8 briquettes on top. Bake the cake for 40-50 minutes, but be careful with the coals underneath, as the cake can easily burn. I like it best with cream and coffee. The ingredients are calculated for a 4-liter Dutch oven.
