  • 70 g sugar
  • 2 eggs
  • 180 ml milk
  • 2 apples, peeled, pitted, quartered, sliced
  • 2 tbsp sugar, for sprinkling before baking
  • 4 scoops of ice cream (vanilla ice cream) optional – but delicious
  • 200 ml whipped cream, well chilled
  • 4 tbsp sugar
  • 2 tbsp, levelled Calvados
  • 1 pinch of cinnamon
  • 2 tbsp oil, neutral

Instructions

Working time approx. 15 minutes; Cooking/baking time approx. 30 minutes; Total time approx. 45 minutes

super quick and best with a scoop of vanilla ice cream

Whisk the flour, sugar, eggs, and milk together well and set aside. Preheat oven to 200°C and in the meantime prepare the apples. Once the oven is warm, pour the oil into an ovenproof casserole dish and heat thoroughly. Then quickly pour the batter into the dish, scatter in the apple pieces, and sprinkle with 2 tablespoons of sugar. Return to the oven and bake for 30 minutes. During this time, whip the cream with 4 tablespoons of sugar and a good pinch of cinnamon until stiff peaks form, then stir in the Calvados. Chill until the pancake batter is ready. Then serve hot on plates with the cream and, if desired, vanilla ice cream.
