Apple Pie Special
The perfect apple pie special recipe with a picture and simple step-by-step instructions.
- 1500 g Apples … peeled, cored and cut into fine wedges
- 250 g Butter
- 3 Eggs
- 1 shot Rum
- 1 Pck. Vanilla sugar
- 150 g Sugar
- 250 g Flour
- 0,5 Pck. Baking powder
- Prepare the apples as indicated under “Ingredients” and keep them in cold water with a splash of lemon juice (so that they do not turn brown) until they are needed. The amount should be approx. 1500 g AFTER preparation.
- Preheat the oven (fan oven) to 200 degrees. Grease the springform pan, get ready. The size of the form does not matter, if the form is larger, the cake will not be as tall.
- Mix the butter, sugar and vanilla sugar until creamy. Add the eggs and the shot of rum and stir everything well. Add the apple pieces and mix in vigorously.
- Put the flour and baking powder in a large sieve and gradually sift smaller amounts over the apple mixture. Fold in portion by portion until all of the flour is used up. Don’t be surprised, but the mass looks like potato salad …..
- Now put the apple dough in the pan and put it in the oven for 60 minutes on the middle rack. ATTENTION: Place aluminum foil or a tray under the baking pan so that the butter that runs out does not burn on.
- Before removing, make a test with a wooden stick. Nothing should stick anymore. Place the mold on aluminum foil to cool, the butter will still run out a little.
- After cooling, sprinkle vigorously with powdered sugar and leave to taste. Is nothing “for the hips”, so to speak for the “cheerful line” …………….. Bon appetit.
