Ingredients

  • 60 g Butter
  • 120 g Sugar
  • 2 Eggs
  • 100 ml Milk
  • 1 packet Custard powder
  • 1 packet Baking powder
  • 80 g Flour
  • 1 pinch Salt
  • 10 Apples
  • 4 cl Rum

Instructions

  • Peel the apples and grate them into thin slices with a vegetable slicer.
  • Mix the butter and sugar until frothy, preferably in a small saucepan over a low heat. Then take the pot off the hob.
  • First add the milk, then the flour, vanilla pudding powder and baking powder, a pinch of salt and rum. (If you want, you can flavor the cake batter with rosemary instead of the rum.)
  • Mix the dough with the apples, place in a baking dish lined with baking paper and smooth out.
  • Bake the cake at 180 degrees (fan oven) for 60 minutes. Then turn off the oven and let the cake stand for another 10 minutes.
  • It is best to let the cake rest for a day so that it can set.
  • Walnut ice cream goes very well with it, and semi-stiff whipped cream.
