Apple Rose Cakes

The perfect apple rose cakes recipe with a picture and simple step-by-step instructions.

For the filling

  • 1 piece Apple
  • 0,25 piece Lemon
  • 40 g Butter
  • 40 g Sugar
  • 0,25 teaspoon Cinnamon

For the dough

  • 50 g Puff pastry
  • 2 teaspoon Sugar
  • 0,25 teaspoon Cinnamon
  • 2 tsp Powdered sugar
  1. Wash and cut the apples in half and remove the core. Cut the apples into even, thin slices.
  2. Put the butter, 20 grams of sugar and 1/4 teaspoon of cinnamon in a pan and slowly heat everything. Mix the ingredients by gently rocking the pan. Wait for the sugar to caramelize.
  3. Now add the apple slices. Drizzle the juice of the lemon quarter over the apple slices. Let them simmer for about 5-10 minutes, until the apple slices are nice and flexible.
  4. Now roll out the puff pastry and cut it into two long, equally wide strips.
  5. Now mix the sugar and cinnamon in a bowl and sprinkle the puff pastry strips with it.
  6. Now cover the puff pastry strips with the cooled apple slices. Now place the apple slices on the upper edge of the respective puff pastry strip, overlapping slightly and slightly over the edge of the puff pastry strip.
  7. Now fold the other side of the puff pastry over so that it encloses the ends of the apple slices by about a quarter.
  8. Now roll the two strips of puff pastry together lengthways. This will give you its rose shape. Put the rose and apple cakes in muffin cups. Bake them at 180 degrees for 30 minutes.
  9. Let the rose and apple cakes cool down and then dust them with powdered sugar.
