Applesauce, baked

Ingredients for 4 servings:

  • 750 g applesauce
  • 2 eggs, separated
  • 100 g sugar
  • Fat for the mold
  • possibly lemon juice

Instructions

Working time approx. 10 minutes; Total time approx. 10 minutes

Combine the egg yolks with the applesauce and pour into a greased baking dish. Beat the egg whites until stiff, stir in the sugar, and spread over the applesauce. Bake for 15-20 minutes at 180°C (350°F) (or until the meringue has browned slightly). It’s especially delicious with homemade applesauce. If using store-bought applesauce, add a little lemon juice.
