Ingredients for 1 servings:

  • 2 liters of vodka
  • 1 kg organic orange(s), peel and pulp
  • 1 lemon(s), unsprayed, peel only
  • 300 g sugar or xylitol (sugar substitute)
  • 1 vanilla pod(s)
  • 1 cinnamon stick(s)
  • 3 star anise

Instructions

Working time approx. 30 minutes; Rest period approx. 42 days; Total time approx. 42 days 30 minutes

Orange liqueur

Wash the oranges and lemon and peel them thinly with a vegetable peeler. Peel the oranges thoroughly, removing and discarding all the white parts. Cut the oranges into eighths and place them in a wide-mouthed 3-liter jar with the peel and sugar. Split the vanilla pod and add the seeds, the whole pod, the cinnamon stick, and the star anise to the jar. Pour in the vodka and let it steep for 6 weeks, shaking daily. After this time, strain the liqueur through a fine sieve, then filter through cheesecloth and bottle.
