a memory of summer

Bring the water and sugar to a boil, bring to a boil briefly, and then let the mixture cool. Rinse the limes with hot water, thinly peel 2 limes, halve them, and squeeze the juice. Place the lime peel, juice, cinnamon stick, sugar solution, and rum in a hot-rinsed bottle. Close the bottle tightly, shake vigorously, and let it steep in a cool place for about 4 weeks. After 4-5 weeks, filter the liqueur through a cotton cloth, pour into small bottles, and seal tightly. The liqueur will keep for about 6-8 weeks if refrigerated.
