Arno's Gin – Cherries

Spread the love

Ingredients for 1 servings:

  • 1 kg sour cherries, fresh with stone
  • 1 kg sugar
  • 0.7 liters of gin

Instructions

Working time approx. 10 minutes; Total time approx. 10 minutes

Super delicious for sparkling wine fans – also as an aperitif

Take a large preserving jar and add the unpitted, washed cherries (otherwise they’ll get mushy!). Fill to the brim with sugar, then add the gin. Wait about 3-4 months until the sugar has completely dissolved. Delicious in dry sparkling wine. Place 3-4 cherries in the sparkling wine glass and add 3-4 teaspoons of the gin liqueur. Then top up with the sparkling wine. It’s especially clever if you first add the cherries and the sparkling wine to the glass and then carefully pour the liqueur over a spoon into the glass – this way the red liquid stays at the bottom!
