Baden winemaker's rolls

Spread the love

Ingredients for 6 servings:

  • 6 pre-baked rolls or pre-baked baguette rolls
  • 100 g sour cream
  • 200 g cream cheese
  • 1 pack of smoked ham cubes
  • 1 pack of cooked ham
  • 100 g Emmental cheese, grated
  • 4 gherkins
  • 1 tsp mustard
  • 2 eggs, hard-boiled
  • 1 pinch(s) of salt and pepper
  • nutmeg
  • ½ pack of garden herbs, frozen
  • 1 onion(s) or spring onion

Instructions

Working time approx. 15 minutes; Cooking/baking time approx. 15 minutes; Total time approx. 30 minutes

Boil and dice the eggs. Dice the cooked ham, onions, and gherkins. Place all ingredients in a large mixing bowl and mix well. The consistency should be thick. If it’s too runny, the mixture will run down during baking. That’s why I don’t use butter or cream. Halve the rolls and spread 2 tablespoons of the mixture on each one. The mixture should be heaped high. The baking time depends on the instructions on the packaging. The rolls are ready when they are golden brown. Notes: The mustard and gherkins are important for a full flavor. The eggs also hold the mixture together. Of course, you can also make a vegetarian version by omitting the ham or replacing it with other strong cheeses.
