Ingredients for 6 servings:

  • 500 g flour as desired
  • 1 egg(s)
  • 300 ml milk
  • 50 g butter
  • 1 cube of fresh yeast
  • 1 tsp sugar
  • 1 tsp salt
  • e.g. cheese, grated, fried onions, sesame, poppy seeds, sunflower seeds etc.

Instructions

Working time approx. 15 minutes; Rest time approx. 30 minutes; Cooking/baking time approx. 20 minutes; Total time approx. 1 hour 5 minutes

also possible with spelt or wholemeal flour

Warm the milk and butter slightly. Stir in the yeast, sugar, and salt until dissolved. Be careful, the milk should only be lukewarm, otherwise the yeast won’t rise. Mix with the flour and egg and knead everything into a smooth dough. Let it rise in a warm place for about 30 minutes, covering the dough with a damp cloth. Season the dough with fried onions, grated cheese, sunflower seeds, etc., to taste, and form two baguettes. Bake at 180°C (fan oven) for about 20 minutes.
