Ingredients for 1 servings:

  • 300 g apples
  • 2 tbsp lemon juice
  • 50 g marzipan
  • 250 g flour, 100 g sugar
  • 3 tsp baking powder
  • ½ tsp baking soda
  • 1 packet of vanilla sugar
  • ½ tsp cinnamon
  • 2 eggs
  • 75 ml oil
  • 150 g sour cream
  • 1 pinch of salt
  • Pistachios
  • Currants
  • clove(s)

Instructions

Working time approx. 35 minutes; Total time approx. 35 minutes

Quarter and core the apples. Cut the quarters into small pieces and drizzle with lemon juice to prevent them from browning. Finely chop the marzipan. Mix the flour, baking soda, and baking powder. Add the sugar, cinnamon, salt, eggs, oil, sour cream, and marzipan and knead until smooth. Fold in the apple pieces. Fill muffin tins 3/4 full with batter. Bake at 200°C (400°F) for 25-30 minutes until golden brown. Decorate with pistachios (stems), currants (cores), and cloves, if desired.
