Ingredients for 6 servings:

  • 2 kg boneless smoked pork
  • 1 ½ kg potatoes (fried potatoes)
  • ½ liter of milk
  • 2 cups sour cream
  • 1 cup of cream
  • 200 g cheese, grated

Instructions

Working time approx. 15 minutes; Rest time approx. 2 hours; Total time approx. 2 hours 15 minutes

Cook the Kaiserbraten for 1 hour in a roasting bag at 180°C. Then let it cool and slice (not too thinly). Place the individual slices in a greased baking dish. Crumble the thawed rösti and mix with sour cream, milk, cream, and cheese. Season with salt and pepper. Preheat oven to 200°C. Pour the rösti mixture onto the meat and, covered with aluminum foil, cook for a good 45 minutes. Then remove the foil and continue cooking until the mixture is golden brown (approx. 15 minutes). Serve with a light salad.
