Baked Maultaschen

Ingredients for 4 servings:

  • 200 g Maultasche(s) from the refrigerated section (meat filling or vegetarian)
  • 1 fennel bulb(s)
  • 1 m.-large zucchini
  • 150 g grated cheese, e.g. Gouda
  • 300 g tomatoes, chopped from the can
  • 2 tbsp olive oil
  • 1 garlic clove(s)
  • 1 tsp oregano, dried
  • some salt and pepper

Instructions

Working time approx. 20 minutes; Cooking/baking time approx. 30 minutes; Total time approx. 50 minutes

Preheat the oven to 200 degrees Celsius (top/bottom heat). Wash the fennel and cut into thin strips. Wash the zucchini and cut into small cubes. Peel and chop the garlic. Heat olive oil in a pan and sauté the fennel and zucchini for about 3 minutes. Add the garlic and sauté. Add the diced tomatoes, stir everything together, and season with salt, pepper, and oregano. Let the sauce simmer for about 2-3 minutes. Slice the Maultaschen and place them in a baking dish. Then pour the vegetable sauce over them and spread the cheese on top. Place the dish in the oven and bake for about 20-25 minutes.
