Banana heaven: moist dough, classic American style, full of banana flavor

Preheat oven to 160°C. Grease a loaf pan with butter and place in the refrigerator. Mash the bananas and chop the walnuts. In a large mixing bowl, combine the flour, baking powder, and salt. In a second bowl, cream together the butter and sugar. Add the eggs and beat until creamy. Add the mashed bananas to the egg mixture and mix well. Add the banana mixture to the flour in the mixing bowl and mix just until the flour is moistened. Don’t overmix! Finally, fold in the walnuts. Then pour the batter into the chilled pan and bake at 160°C for about one hour. Near the end, check the consistency with a toothpick. If no batter sticks to the toothpick, the cake is done. Let cool in the pan for 10 minutes, then turn out onto a cake plate and sprinkle with powdered sugar. Let cool before eating, then enjoy with whipped cream or vanilla ice cream.
