Banana waffles with vanilla cream

Spread the love

Ingredients for 8 servings:

  • 50 g butter, soft
  • 70 g sugar
  • 1 packet of vanilla sugar
  • 3 eggs
  • 250 g flour
  • ½ tsp baking powder
  • 150 ml milk
  • ½ lemon(s)
  • 2 bananas
  • 200 g cream
  • 2 packets of vanilla sugar

Instructions

Working time approx. 35 minutes; Total time approx. 35 minutes

Put the butter in a mixing bowl. Add the sugar, vanilla sugar, and eggs and beat everything with the whisk attachment until creamy. Mix the flour and baking powder and add them alternately with the milk to the mixing bowl. Mix everything together to form a batter. Squeeze half a lemon. Peel the bananas and mash them well with a fork on a flat plate until they form a puree. Drizzle with the lemon juice to prevent them from browning. Stir the mashed bananas into the batter. Preheat the waffle iron with the lid closed for about 10 minutes at medium temperature. Meanwhile, whip the cream with the vanilla sugar until stiff peaks form. Pour about 3 to 4 tablespoons of batter into the hot waffle iron and smooth it down with a knife to fill all the heart shapes. Close the waffle iron. Cook each waffle for 3 to 5 minutes. Carefully loosen the waffle iron with a wooden spatula, place it on a plate, top with 1 tablespoon of vanilla cream, and serve immediately.
