Basil cream sauce

Ingredients for 2 servings:

  • 1 garlic clove(s)
  • 1 onion(s)
  • 4 sprigs of basil
  • 1 tbsp oil
  • 100 ml vegetable stock
  • 200 ml whipped cream
  • 150 g light cream
  • salt and pepper

Instructions

Working time approx. 10 minutes; Cooking/baking time approx. 12 minutes; Total time approx. 22 minutes

e.g. for all types of pasta

Finely dice the garlic and onion. Pick the basil leaves and set aside. Heat the oil and sauté the garlic and onion until translucent. Add the vegetable stock and cream. Add the basil stalks and simmer over medium heat for 8-10 minutes. Remove the basil stalks from the sauce and add the crème légère. Bring everything to a boil briefly. Roughly chop 2/3 of the basil leaves and add them. Season the sauce with salt and pepper. Garnish the cream sauce with the remaining basil leaves.
