Ingredients for 5 servings:

  • 5 pretzel sticks with cheese
  • 5 white sausages
  • 5 tbsp, heaped white cabbage salad (coleslaw), best homemade
  • 1 blue cheese (Bavaria Blue)
  • 5 tbsp mayonnaise, preferably homemade
  • 5 tsp mustard, sweet
  • 1 tbsp fried onions
  • n. B. Caraway

Instructions

Working time approx. 15 minutes; Cooking/baking time approx. 25 minutes; Total time approx. 40 minutes

Bayern meets USA

Cook the white sausages in hot water. Halve the sausages lengthwise and discard the skins. Halve the pretzel sticks lengthwise. Divide the cheese into 5 pieces. Spread one half of the pretzel stick with mayo and mustard, then spread the cheese on top. Place in the oven at 200 degrees Celsius (approx. 3 to 4 minutes) and bake until the cheese melts. Add the caraway seeds to the coleslaw and mix. Place the sausages on the cheese, cover with coleslaw, and top with the fried onions. Cover with the second half of the pretzel stick.
