Ingredients for 18 servings:
- 400 g flour
- 5 tsp baking powder
- 1 tsp salt
- ½ tsp ground pepper
- 2 tbsp sugar
- 500 ml beer
- 50 g cheese (Emmental), grated
- Fat and flour or breadcrumbs for the mold

Savory muffins – but not for children
Preheat the oven to 180°C. Grease the muffin tins well and dust with flour. Breadcrumbs make the muffins even crispier. Since the batter itself contains no fat, paper baking cups are not suitable. In a medium bowl, thoroughly mix the dry ingredients (flour, baking powder, salt, pepper, and sugar). Add the beer and fold gently until the dry ingredients are moistened (careful, it will foam over easily). Pour the batter 3/4 full into the muffin tins. Sprinkle with grated cheese. Bake at 180°C on the middle rack for 20-25 minutes until golden brown. Serve warm.
