Beetle sandwiches

Spread the love

Ingredients for 4 servings:

  • 4 slices of toast
  • 8 pieces of cheese, small and round, e.g. Babybel
  • 5 slices of salami or ham
  • 1 small cucumber(s)
  • ketchup
  • cream cheese
  • chives

Instructions

Working time approx. 45 minutes; Total time approx. 45 minutes

Cut the small, round pieces of cheese in half lengthwise so they are only half as thick. Then cut out a small triangle from the edge of each piece. Cut out circles from the toast and salami using a cookie cutter roughly the size of the cheese pieces. Slice the cucumber. Cut the chives into 3-5 cm long stalks; these will be the feelers. Spread the toast circles with cream cheese and top each with a slice of cucumber and a slice of salami. Place two chives stalks next to each other so that they stick out over the edge like feelers. Finally, place the cheese on top and, using a toothpick or similar object, draw eyes on the cheese with the ketchup.
