Ingredients for 4 servings:
- 600 g berries (e.g. raspberries, blackberries, currants, strawberries), fresh or frozen
- 2 tbsp breadcrumbs
- 2 tbsp brown sugar
- 2 tbsp almonds (sticks)
- 100 g flour
- 100 g butter
- 60 g sugar
- ½ tsp cinnamon
- Powdered sugar for dusting
Instructions
Working time approx. 15 minutes; Total time approx. 15 minutes
Wash and trim the fruit, and drain. In the meantime, grease a shallow baking dish and sprinkle with breadcrumbs. Add the drained fruit and sprinkle with the sugar and almond slivers. Put the flour and sugar in a bowl. Melt the butter, add it, and crumble with your hands. Spread over the fruit and bake in a preheated oven at approx. 200°C for about 30 minutes. Serve while still hot. Dust with powdered sugar before serving. Crumble also works well with other fruits (e.g., apples, pears, sour cherries, etc.). It goes well with vanilla ice cream, custard, or whipped cream.
