Better Than Fresh Fruit: Nutritionist Names Four of the Healthiest Dried Fruits

Some dried fruits are better than fresh fruit. The healthiest and most nutritious dried fruits are raisins, dried apricots, dates, and prunes.

According to her, these dried fruits contain three times more fiber, vitamins, and minerals than fresh fruit. They can also satisfy a higher percentage of the recommended daily allowance of nutrients.

“Raisins contain a lot of potassium and B vitamins, which can lower blood pressure and reduce inflammation in the body. Prunes are a natural laxative. It is also rich in potassium, fiber, and vitamins A and K, is a good prevention of cardiovascular diseases, and helps fight osteoporosis,” the expert noted.

In particular, dates are rich in iron, potassium, and fiber and are leaders among antioxidants.

Dried apricots are rich in fiber, potassium, and vitamins A and C. They are useful for the prevention of eye diseases and provide 47% of the daily vitamin A requirement.
